I was at his last show at Alpine Valley near Milwaukee. I still have a virgin ticket from it. Took a limo and parked at the ski lodge, also golf course. Walked up the 1st hole to the rear entrance and walked right next to the copters. Clapton, Stevie and Jimmie all played Sweet Home Milwaukee for the encore.

Good show, remember commenting to my guests and saying how foggy it was including me. Was not long after on the ride home we heard the news. This is not Colorado or Utah but a man made hill in the Midwest.

My ALL time favorite musician. Finally beat the weapons of fame and sobered up to only see his demise crashing into a hill.

I listen to his work more than any other musician. Sad day indeed.

Owen Wilson take note.

It was a helicopter crash less than 100 yards from the launch area. In fact there are several stories of how Clapton asked Stevie to ride with him and he declined only to be on the one with some of his crew go into the hill. Things that make you go hmmm.........

yea helicopter not a plane but srv wan not originally suppose to be on the thing, he asked i think at the last second to have his brothers seat so he could get back to his girlfriend

i remember hearing the news early around 6am during practice my first week in college

the first time i heard his music i couldnt stop listening---my brother just got a new album and i asked who it was, he told me and 2 weeks later i talked my parents into buying me a guitar, my brother learned to play it and turned to the drums

a couple months ago on espn i heard someone say tiger woods was better at golf than anyone was at anything---in sports they would be correct however srv had mastered the guitar more so than tiger has mastered golf and that is a bold statement

RIP SRV

Proud to say I saw SRV in 1986 in Cincinnati. He came out on stage in a full Indian head-dress, which was pretty cool. The Fab T-Birds warmed up for him, and during his set while he was sitting down and playing a double-necked guitar, his bro came out on stage, leaned over his back, and they played a duet on the same instrument. Solid.

SRV+Clapton concert got canceled (duh) in the wake of the accident. Couple of my friends, including my best friend and my girlfriend, picked up tickets to the next Clapton show, out of town -- couldn't make it.

GF and BF ended up fucking, then dated for a while. Like most relationships, it fizzled out shortly after the new fuck scent wore off. What a waste of two good relationships.

Miss SRV a lot more than I miss either of those assholes.
